Beauty and the Beast
Sun, 7 Sept 2008, 02:55 pmI'm sure I'm not on my lonesome when I wish Playlovers the greatest of success with their forthcoming production of Beauty and the Beast. To see one of our own putting on a show at the Regal is fantastic! I know they're not the first to do so, but it's up to all of us involved in the local theatre community to offer our support to our colleagues by telling the whole of Perth about this must see and support event.
PS: And before I'm asked the obvious...yes, I shall certainly be going, and before you ask Walter...No, I'm not involved in any way with this production.
cheers

Bitching?
Fri, 12 Sept 2008, 09:17 amHaving just re-read this thread, There is very little bitching/slagging off to be seen. Contributors have, for the most part, wished Playlovers all the best, and wondered where a community theatre gets the up-front funds to mount a show such as this. My little club couldn't contemplate such a thing. We just don't have the funds. It's really none of my business, or anyone elses, where the money comes from, but we are such inquisitive creatures.
If you REALLY want to know, I suggest you pop down to Hackett Hall at the next AGM, having paid your membership, and then you can take a look at the P&L for the year.
And while you're there, put up your hand to serve on committee. Comm Theatre needs all the helping hands it can get.
*edit* OK, since i wrote this, there have been some new posts added above, that are getting a bit snippy. If you don't want to pay $60 Walter, don't go. Why do you think it's your role to try and dissuade others from going.
