I'm sure I'm not on my lonesome when I wish Playlovers the greatest of success with their forthcoming production of Beauty and the Beast. To see one of our own putting on a show at the Regal is fantastic! I know they're not the first to do so, but it's up to all of us involved in the local theatre community to offer our support to our colleagues by telling the whole of Perth about this must see and support event. PS: And before I'm asked the obvious...yes, I shall certainly be going, and before you ask Walter...No, I'm not involved in any way with this production. cheers Johnny Grim A lad in sane productions

IS THE BEAST A BEAUTY?

Whether or not figures stated are correct or not lets look at the positives of this production. firstly we can assume that with there experience of staging shows at the Regal, Playlovers have done their homework and are now "putting up", they are putting on a show that is well loved and enjoyable to watch, a show that the big houses have failed to bring to Perth. Next look at the opportunities for our local actors and crew to work a big stage in front of a large audience. just working F.O.H or backstage in a show like this is a great buzz. It is a poor industry out there in community theatre land where we are all chasing the dollar to just maintain our local stages. lets all get behind Playlovers and wish them every success in this production, even to the extent of promoting the show in our own little world. And no I am not a member ot playlovers but have enjoyed a few shows there from time to time including the fund raising quiz night to assist the ITA. Jaguar
