Beauty and the Beast
Sun, 7 Sept 2008, 02:55 pmI'm sure I'm not on my lonesome when I wish Playlovers the greatest of success with their forthcoming production of Beauty and the Beast. To see one of our own putting on a show at the Regal is fantastic! I know they're not the first to do so, but it's up to all of us involved in the local theatre community to offer our support to our colleagues by telling the whole of Perth about this must see and support event.
PS: And before I'm asked the obvious...yes, I shall certainly be going, and before you ask Walter...No, I'm not involved in any way with this production.
cheers

Yes it must be true
Tue, 9 Sept 2008, 06:57 amYes it must be true if it is reported in the West Australian!
(choke gag vomit)
The sum total of the coffers of all the main community theatres in WA wouldn't have $600 000, so if the alleged amount to put this show on is that much money, I would like to know where a non-profit organisation like Playlovers got the funds from.(and for the functionally illiterate anonymous posters out there, that was me being sarky - I couldn't give two knobs of goat shit where the money comes from - I really don't think it cost that much...that is my point!!)
As for the gross profit, well I did my sums and it is within the realms of possibility, but only if they sell every single seat for the season at the full adult price, but quite frankly I think its a HUGE stretch for them to do that also, even Rent last year with Yellow Glass wasn't a sell out.
I am glad Playlovers are putting this show on, I also admire the fact they are donating the profits to charity
I wish Playlovers every success with this venture, and yes, I will be going to see it.
Cheers All
Robert
