I'm sure I'm not on my lonesome when I wish Playlovers the greatest of success with their forthcoming production of Beauty and the Beast. To see one of our own putting on a show at the Regal is fantastic! I know they're not the first to do so, but it's up to all of us involved in the local theatre community to offer our support to our colleagues by telling the whole of Perth about this must see and support event. PS: And before I'm asked the obvious...yes, I shall certainly be going, and before you ask Walter...No, I'm not involved in any way with this production. cheers Johnny Grim A lad in sane productions

The Regal seats 1074.16

The Regal seats 1074. 16 nights ( there are probably matinees too, but lets go with 16) *edit* The show runs for 23 performances $60 per ticket. Full houses every performance equates to just a nick over a million dollars. Of course, full houses every night doesn't happen, and neither do houses full of full price tickets. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the figure of $600,000 quoted was somewhere in the ballpark. I wouldn't for a moment think that the West might round up the number to make the story read better. :P I have a vague memory of the costs involved in this show being discussed when Mandurah put it on. If you care, go find the thread. This brings me back to my original thoughts earlier in this thread, that the numbers involved scare me, as I know what sort of budget my club runs on. And....before the bitching starts, I have no problem with a local community group charging this sort of price to put on a show like this. Good luck to Playlovers, I hope it all comes off. Hackett Hall could do with a new electricity supply..... www.meltheco.org.au
