12 year old girl lookiing for small speaking TV or Movie role.
Mon, 14 May 2007, 07:04 pmHi my name is -------. I'm 12 years old and i live in Melbourne. I have blond hair and green eyes. I'm looking for a TV or movie part not for money but for experience. lately at my school i was awarded Best Actress in a Supporting Role and have been in many school plays. I know i might not sound like the best option because i don't have that much experience but please if you give me a go i won't let you down!
Please contact me at ---------- or on my mobile --------- (weekends or 12.35pm - 1pm and 4pm - 9pm weekdays only thanks)
Thank You
p.s i'm not the sensetive type so if you take me i won't be offended if you don't want me once you meet me.
Some advice
Fri, 18 May 2007, 02:22 pmMietta,
I have two bits of advice:
First, to approach an agent, or see a director or producer, or to go to an audition, you MUST take a responsible adult with you, who has your best interests at heart (preferably your mother and/or your father or a guardian).
A responsible agent, producer, or director will not see you without an adult (parent or guardian) in any case.
Second, there are no short-cuts to an acting career. Sure, there are roles for young girls like yourself onstage and in films.
If those opportunities come up, then use them (with that adult looking after your interests).
But, there is quite a step between a successful role in a school play or musical and acting as a career.
If you are determined to be an actor, then finish high school; do a drama course at high school if that is possible.
I am a strong believer in giving yourself time to develop personally, emotionally and professionally in the earliest stages of your acting career. Completing an Acting School course when you have finished High School helps you do that, in my view.
You will hear lots of different views about that. The key point in making up your mind - when the time is right - is that acting school does not necessarily make you a good actor and a good actor might not have gone to an Acting School.
But, actors who are successful without finishing an Acting course are relatively rare, and are very special individuals.
Take care, and listen to that advice about not giving out your mobile number!! Or having it on your profile, or giving out your address. People can contact you through the "write to the author" link at the bottom of your posts.
