Stage Door School in Subiaco
Mon, 26 Dec 2005, 08:10 amI'm considering doing the part time musical theatre course at Stage Door School in Subiaco (Perth) next year. Anyone completed this course before and if so, was it a worthwhile investment? It's going to be quite costly as you are required to have a singing lesson every week on top of the course. I hear their students have quite a good record in WAAPA success.

Wed, 4 Jan 2006, 02:18 pmLukey, yeah only part time. I'm currently working full-time during the week. I'd really like to get into musicals... even if it's amateur. The catch 22 is when you go for auditions they like some sort of experience, but the whole idea of auditioning for these musicals IS for the experience!!
Got callbacks for the MT course at WAAPA 2 years in a row so I guess that's a good sign.
I've done separate singing lessons and dancing in the past.
What I'd really like is a musical theatre part time course which encompasses singing, dancing and acting. The Stage Door part time musical theatre course seems a bit on the expensive side for only an 11 week course. Did the maths, and the fee is pretty much equivalent to a whole year at WAAPA! So I just thought I'd ask around.
Any advice from anyone would be great.
