will people please stop advertising themselfs on the forums
Tue, 5 June 2007, 09:05 pmplease. people like me and others come on this site to find Auditions. If somebody needs someone for a play they will advertise... do you think that they only want to audition one person? If you want to be in something then just check the forums again.
Or could someone make another forum just so people can advertise themselfs and people who are trying to find work can do it easier.
please don't leave comments on this thing cause im sure people dont want to see this every time they log on... Thanks anyway
how about a classifieds forum?
Mon, 11 June 2007, 12:41 pmWell the general mood is that we don't want to tell people what to post, so how about - as one poster suggested - having a umm... 'self-promotion' or 'advertising' sub-forum? Hang on, that sounds a bit clunky. Isn't there a word we usually use for that sort of thing? You know - like in the weekend newspaper where the have a big subsection full of advertisements and promotions, what do they call that again? I know - a CLASSIFIEDS section! Hey great idea, why don't we ask Grant to set up ONE forum called 'classifieds' and then have another section on this website called 'auditions'.
But we don't want people to have to hurt their eyes looking at the classifieds forum link in order to get to the auditions, so maybe Grant should make the 'auditions' part a linked page rather than another forum, and have a drop-down link from the top of the webpage in the 'what's on' section. And then set aside a forum for CLASSIFIEDS. Oh wait a minute...what forum are we in again?

[sorry for the burst of sarcasm, no offense intended - but isn't the idea of a classifieds forum so that people can post their theatre-related promotions in here? I used to complain about promotional posts under the old website set-up, but with a dedicated classifieds section separate to the auditions page I'm not sure how one can 'accidentally' get lost in the classifieds while looking for auditions
