Strand lamp base P 28 for Patt 23/123/223 etc.
Mon, 23 Feb 2009, 10:40 pmI have just ordered a batch of direct replacement lamp bases to suit the Patt 23/123/ 223/45/264 Strand lights and they will cost under $20 each and this will make it economical to repair these older lights as currently a similar base costs $80 and then you have to re-drill holes to make it fit.Anyone who may be able to use these please contact me.

Thu, 7 May 2009, 08:02 pmThe new replacement bases have some features that improve on the older bases, like the centre contact can be unscrewed and cleaned or polished and the spring, which is the bit that usually fails, can be replaced.The bases have been modernized to take crimp connectors and the BA[British Association]screws changed to Metric which is much easier to source.
Given that the T17 lamp costs 10% more but lasts 250% longer, it is a very false economy to change to the gy 9.5 bases.
After 3 prototypes and adjustments they should be here next week.
