Strand lamp base P 28 for Patt 23/123/223 etc.
Mon, 23 Feb 2009, 10:40 pmI have just ordered a batch of direct replacement lamp bases to suit the Patt 23/123/ 223/45/264 Strand lights and they will cost under $20 each and this will make it economical to repair these older lights as currently a similar base costs $80 and then you have to re-drill holes to make it fit.Anyone who may be able to use these please contact me.

Thu, 12 Mar 2009, 10:37 pmyou nailed it with your comment that you have 4 p28 bases in good condition, the "old" p28 base will last 30-40 years, but I change out gy 9.5 bases after 3-4 years.They are all T [theatre] class lamps both the t18 and t27 with 2 pins,[ by the way running 650 lamps in your lights also reduces the base life],and the t17 and others which use the p28, round prefocus, base.It's like swapping an old Rolls Royce for a new Hyundai, it may be nice now but in ten years which will be on the scrap heap.Marcus got it dead right.
