Strand lamp base P 28 for Patt 23/123/223 etc.
Mon, 23 Feb 2009, 10:40 pmI have just ordered a batch of direct replacement lamp bases to suit the Patt 23/123/ 223/45/264 Strand lights and they will cost under $20 each and this will make it economical to repair these older lights as currently a similar base costs $80 and then you have to re-drill holes to make it fit.Anyone who may be able to use these please contact me.

Thu, 12 Mar 2009, 01:58 pmChanging to gy 9.5 bases is just that, a change, it is not an upgrade it is a downgrade because the gy 9.5 burn out at a far, far faster rate than p28 bases, some of which last 40 years.A T17 lamp gives you the same light quality and in practice, longer life because of heat problems with gy9.5's.This is why the US uses P28's on new fresnels even today,[including Selecon], it's just the high cost and having to re-drill for them which makes them impractical.Hence me getting some lower cost ones made.
