This was in the recent Playlovers newsletter - too true !!

Critical behaviour
It is a sad day when one of the several no gooders out there amongst our theatrical world decide to get on Theatre Australia and other networks to just bad mouth and say negative things about a particular theatre, person, or show, etc.

Whilst everyone is still entitled to their opinion, what can possibly be gained by the negative, nasty and rude remarks left by the ‘unverified’... ????

Is it the no-gooders role to attempt to shut down a thriving voluntary thespian network?

What sort of an example is this critical behaviour showing our youth except possibly teaching them another meaning to ‘exit stage left’.

Community theatre has a duty to encourage, respect, guide and provide support and constructive criticism with an outcome for growth.

If you know someone that likes to behave in this unruly fashion, then please, encourage them to stop this anti thespian behaviour and show some respect.

After all – it’s all for the love!!

If you really believe in this so called "click", why didn't you run for the committee of the ITA? I can assure you that you would have been very welcome. In fact half of the committee are new this year. To me that suggests an open door. Two of the new committee I had never met before. That again, would suggest we are open to new people. My phone number and email are readily available elsewhere on the site and on ITA literature. Have you considered calling me to discuss this? You weren't at the ITA AGM, but did you watch The Green Room last night? If you had you would have seen that one of the aims this year is to target inclusiveness. I think my words were "to make clubs and people on the periphery of the ITA feel more welcome and involved." This remark was made several weeks before your attack on this site. Mr Ripper, help us. You are like a child at a party who refuses to play, but accuses everyone else of leaving him out. How can we help you? What can we do for you? We are providing an open forum for you. Tell us how to help you. Kimberley Shaw (new) ITA President
