Advertising your show
Fri, 25 Aug 2006, 06:05 pmIt is sad to say that several of the shows on in Perth at the moment, both large and small, are not listed on this web site under the 'What's On' section.
This is a free promotion facility which we are all lucky to have, and yet recently I have had to try cross-referencing, looking up production companies and venues (one main one, still not even listed) in order to find the dates or times of shows that I have heard may possibly be on now.
Your audience shouldn't have to work hard to find you.
Don't let all your crew and actors work their guts out and not even list your production. Then wonder why no one has turned up!
Kind regards

Negative Comments
Mon, 4 Sept 2006, 12:32 pmI realise we are all artists in our own way and whenever we put a show on to an extent we are laying back and offering our throat to be cut by any passing lunatic. Unfortunately it's the nature of the beast. We can often be too thin skinned, I'm guilty of it too especially if I think the criticism grows out of a failure to understand what I was trying to acheive. I try not to moderate comments on this site that relate to me. If others do it then I feel that it is not just my resentment speaking. I do moderate remarks about others that I feel are directly aimed at personality rather than justifiably at work.
Look we put our work out there in the public arena. Do we really only want the nice comments. I try to learn from negatives even if I consider them unjustified. And anyway I can always say to myself "Well, what do they know anyway" particularly if they hide behind a pseudonym.
Am I still on point or did I wander.
