It is sad to say that several of the shows on in Perth at the moment, both large and small, are not listed on this web site under the 'What's On' section.

This is a free promotion facility which we are all lucky to have, and yet recently I have had to try cross-referencing, looking up production companies and venues (one main one, still not even listed) in order to find the dates or times of shows that I have heard may possibly be on now.

Your audience shouldn't have to work hard to find you.

Don't let all your crew and actors work their guts out and not even list your production. Then wonder why no one has turned up!

Kind regards

Maybe one of the reasons companies are not listing is because they are actively avoiding this site. The forums, in which people can post willy nilly with no verified ID, no come back no way of tracing defematory or just stupid remarks, means that a lot of anonymous bull can get thrown around about productions. I've seen it happen on this site with a couple of productions that have been shot up by locally known competing companies and their members from the local area or people who have a vested interest (obvious from their words). I reckon I site that encourages support and enthusiasm for theatre, especially community theatre is absolutely tops, but if there are opportunities for nasty comments from venemous people who can't spell properly, then really the whole thing just becomes a second rate playground chat room - a vehicle for people to behave like juveniles, running around and bitching about each other which is very sad. I know of at least three companies that have taken their listings off this site (or tried to) because of this sort of problem. I know one company that wrote in to the moderator about defematory statements being made but there was no resposne and no change to the list. It's quite sad.
