Looking to make a School Community Musical Theatre Society
Wed, 6 Aug 2008, 03:53 pmHello Everybody. I hope you are all well.
I was wondering if any one could help me with an idea I am trying to Develop.
I have nearly finished a proposal for a new Musical Theatre Society within my old High School Community. I have all the content as to what I would like to do during the course of the year, but I am at a loss as to what the Hierachy and structure should be. I was hoping that someone from here could help me with a few examples and ideas from other Musical Theatre or plain Theatre groups.
I would be greatful for any help and direction given.
Thank you all

Ok, now I'm confused....
Thu, 7 Aug 2008, 06:01 pmOk, now I'm confused.... It's an amateur musicals group, which is part of a school program? Do you mean you'll be teaching within the school, or you're simply running an extra-curricular activity which kids can take part of...
The MTC is quite a large professional company, and doesn't really reflect the size or structure of a small amateur group.
Again, it would help if you could add more about your experience and what you're planning on doing. I can tell you the organisational structure of the MTC would not be representative of most of the theatre groups in Melbourne, because of the size; their inclusion as part of the Uni of Melb organisation; and their level of funding.
(Sorry, not trying to rain on your parade; it's just that it's hard to offer advice when we have little info from you as to what you're thoughts and plans are)
