Hello Everybody. I hope you are all well. I was wondering if any one could help me with an idea I am trying to Develop. I have nearly finished a proposal for a new Musical Theatre Society within my old High School Community. I have all the content as to what I would like to do during the course of the year, but I am at a loss as to what the Hierachy and structure should be. I was hoping that someone from here could help me with a few examples and ideas from other Musical Theatre or plain Theatre groups. I would be greatful for any help and direction given. Thank you all MichaelMan

Ah, well then, as suggested, try contacting a local amateur group to see how they do it. Thing is, there's no right or wrong way. You may decide you want a musical director to be one person all the time; you may decide that's a role you want to fill on a per-production basis. It depends on how many people you need and how many people are willing, to fill the top roles. Perhaps it would help if you explain more about how you think you want to do it - and then we could expound a bit more on what things you might not have considered yet. It might also help if we knew a bit more about your experience in theatre. Additionally, running an amateur group isn't so different than running a pro group, in terms of structure and heirachy, so it may benefit you to have a look on the net and find out more about how pro groups structure their companies.
