Callbacks

Sun, 31 Dec 2006, 10:20 am
There were 20 people at my callback, there were 3 callback sessions. We were told that there were 60 people all together. I would say that many of the people who got "A" letters also got offers for other courses, such as WAAPA and the VCA, so not all of them would have accepted. Therefore Ballarat has places to fill, and they would be calling back some of their 'question-marked' auditionees to give them another go. And it's very true that most institutions do not want their students to have any exposure while they are still training, preferring that their students focus wholly on their training. But that doesn't mean that everyone follows that rule. I know several people here in Adelaide who are getting into much trouble with Flinders Drama Centre & AIT Arts because they are doing outside shows as well as their courses. They want to get as much exposure and experience as they can in the local industry and not just rely on the qualification that they'll have at the end. Again, it comes down to personal choice. I'm not saying that those who chose the VCA over Ballarat WILL get any more exposure, just that they FEEL they are better placed for that to happen in Melbourne. *LE*
