Help Save Harbour Theatre
Sat, 5 Sept 2009, 01:34 pmAs reported here, and this week on the front page of both of Fremantle's local papers, Harbour Theatre may have to move from the Princess May Building. While negotiations and discussions are still under way between the Fremantle Education Centre, Fremantle City Council and Harbour Theatre we need your help and support. Without an alternative, and suitable venue for us to perform within the Fremantle region we face the very real (but unwanted) prospect of closing and joining the ranks of other community programs that have recently been closed in Fremantle (ie. history museum, car museum, energy museum).
We need to maintain the pressure on the Fremantle Council and ask all our friends in the ITA to help us. As I'm not sure how to add links to this website, I've placed a list of the Fremantle Elected members on the Harbour Theatre web site (www.harbourtheatre.org.au). Please contact them and show the council that losing Harbour Theatre would be a sad day indeed.
Thank you for your support
Ciao

FPA not only control or own
Fri, 18 Sept 2009, 08:56 amFPA not only control or own warf buildings in the harbour, but a lot of the outer area in fremantle.
There again I'm sure the Phoenix theatre option is worth exploring, while retaining the Harbour banner & interest. Even if it's just some where to perform, in Hamilton Hill, while still rehearsing in the freo area.
