Help Save Harbour Theatre
Sat, 5 Sept 2009, 01:34 pmAs reported here, and this week on the front page of both of Fremantle's local papers, Harbour Theatre may have to move from the Princess May Building. While negotiations and discussions are still under way between the Fremantle Education Centre, Fremantle City Council and Harbour Theatre we need your help and support. Without an alternative, and suitable venue for us to perform within the Fremantle region we face the very real (but unwanted) prospect of closing and joining the ranks of other community programs that have recently been closed in Fremantle (ie. history museum, car museum, energy museum).
We need to maintain the pressure on the Fremantle Council and ask all our friends in the ITA to help us. As I'm not sure how to add links to this website, I've placed a list of the Fremantle Elected members on the Harbour Theatre web site (www.harbourtheatre.org.au). Please contact them and show the council that losing Harbour Theatre would be a sad day indeed.
Thank you for your support

Council Meeting
Thu, 17 Sept 2009, 07:35 pmHi all,
There's a Fremantle Council Meeting next week - Wednesday 23rd September @ 6pm - and we need to keep the pressure up on the council, so I encourage all of you that are able to attend to do so. The situation for Harbour is still very dire and we need to show the council that the community care, otherwise... Well, let's not dwell on that just yet.
The Council offices are located up the winding stairs on the OUTSIDE at the rear of the Council building (behind the Town Hall). You need to be there by 5.30pm if you want to speak/ask questions during the meeting (questions have to be written on the sheets provided beforehand). Or just come to show your support.
Hope to see you there.
Ciao
