Help Save Harbour Theatre
Sat, 5 Sept 2009, 01:34 pmAs reported here, and this week on the front page of both of Fremantle's local papers, Harbour Theatre may have to move from the Princess May Building. While negotiations and discussions are still under way between the Fremantle Education Centre, Fremantle City Council and Harbour Theatre we need your help and support. Without an alternative, and suitable venue for us to perform within the Fremantle region we face the very real (but unwanted) prospect of closing and joining the ranks of other community programs that have recently been closed in Fremantle (ie. history museum, car museum, energy museum).
We need to maintain the pressure on the Fremantle Council and ask all our friends in the ITA to help us. As I'm not sure how to add links to this website, I've placed a list of the Fremantle Elected members on the Harbour Theatre web site (www.harbourtheatre.org.au). Please contact them and show the council that losing Harbour Theatre would be a sad day indeed.
Thank you for your support

Not sure that the port is available...
Thu, 17 Sept 2009, 07:46 pmmmm. Not sure that the port is available. Yes, there are lots of buildings, but considering that the car museum and several other groups have all been recently kicked out I doubt that the FPA would then be willing to help us. According to the local papers the FPA have plans for the buildings on the wharf - not to mention the ongoing plans for the ING redevelopment, but I'll pass on your suggestion to the Committee
