hi everyone...

of the people who auditioned for MT at waapa and received callbacks but were unsuccessful in the end, what are you doing with yourself now in terms of gaining experience? singing classes? dancing? And if so, who with? also, are you getting roles in productions?

cheers,
A

Hi

I understand how alot of people want to get into waapa and nida but if you dont you just have to keep on plugging away. I did not go to either but I still managed to get into professional musicals in Australia and the West End. When I auditioned for these musicals they never asked me where I studied dance, singing or drama they paid attention to the talents. So go for it keep up the classes, dont stick to one studio only try and attend a variety of classes with different teachers.

Remember we do this for the love of it and if it does not happen when your young it could happen later on down the line. Alot of productions on the Westend cast people 30+ especially in productions such as Chicago, Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Superstar. I know because most of the people I worked with on the Westend are over 35 still dancing, singing and still reaching for the stars.

It's a shame our Australian directors/producers in the musical world don't take a leaf out of the UK counterparts to employ people who are older.
