People who got WAAPA callbacks

of the people who auditioned for MT at waapa and received callbacks but were unsuccessful in the end, what are you doing with yourself now in terms of gaining experience? singing classes? dancing? And if so, who with? also, are you getting roles in productions?

Fri, 17 Feb 2006, 12:01 pmI didn't get into WAAPA after auditioning once in 2000. I have since worked here and in the UK in large music theatre productions. I don't want to diss the place at all because some exceedingly talented people have been there, and some of them are my friends. It has to be said though that those people had talent before they arrived-it was noticed and nurtured. Lots of talented people don't go to WAAPA. Lots of untalented people also don't go to WAAPA but if you have talent it can be nurtured anyway-it just takes a little while longer but sometimes that path can be just as interesting and , maybe, a little more unique. We have to get past thinking WAAPA is the only way to become successful. It comes with no gurarantees either.
