It was my privilege to attend last night's opening of Blak Yak's production of Amadeus. This production was one of the best I have seen for a long time. It had a grace and style, the costumes, lighting, sound effects and staging were each complimentary to the other. Louise Carson's directorial touches created an amazing piece of theatre. She wisely deleted some of the "extras" in the script thus trimming the cast numbers, but in doing so none of the impact of the text was lost.
The strong cast is led by Eliot McCann as Salieri and Shenandoah Bruce as Mozart. Eliot's performance is a "tour de force" and Shenandoah's work is the best I have seen him do.
Congratulations to all involved with this production, I loved it.
I strongly urge those who have not yet booked tickets to do so quickly. Once word gets out this will be a sell out. Don't miss it!
