He did a lot of acting or drinking (or both)?
His biography doesn't mention anything about him writing plays, though. In fact, the IMDB lists several Richard Harrises, including:
1. Actor ("Harry Potter"), singer (Soggy Cake Song), drunkard
2. Writer ("Stepping Out", 1960s TV series "The Saint" and "The Avengers")
3. Editor ("Titanic", "True Lies", "T2")
