Re: Soggy Cakes and Choreography
Sat, 22 June 2002, 11:32 amI should know the answer to this one having directed a one-acter by RH. But all my research proved inconclusive.
In the whole 5 minutes I spent researching the web I only got more confused (Can you reasearch anything on the web in 5 minutes. It takes that long for the search engine to spit out your first 3,429,172 possibilitites. Bring back the encyclopaedia I say.)
imdb.com has two major listings for a "Richard Harris" The first seems to have done a lot of acting with a dabble at screenplays. The second has done a lot of writing but no acting. Neither contained a cross reference to the other. In all the bios on the actor there is no mention made of his play writing skills. I couldn't find a bio on the writer.
The Samuel French catalogue lists about 8 plays by a Richard Harris. I doubt that the actor would have time to write plays considering his legendary bedroom prowess and seemingly interminable drinking sessions with mates Oliver Reed & Richard Burton.
Given that both "Richard" and "Harris" are common names I feel it is highly likely that the author and the actor are NOT the one and same person.
