How Would I Go About Putting On A Famous Show?

Hi, I was wandering how I would go about getting lisencing rights and a really inexpensive way to put on "A Chorus Line". Friends and I would very much enjoy putting on a piece of ameture theater and we've attempted it once before with trying to stage The Who's Tommy but after months of preperation, personal matters got in the way and everything fizzled. It would be really nice if we got to put on a much loved show such as A Chorus Line.

So advice on stuff like liscening is the main issue I think. Venues, auditions, advertising is all under the hat.

So if anyone's keen to help with how I'd get info on copyrightand stuff, please feel free to contact me.

Hi Lee, ten out of ten for enthusiasm, you sound like an acheiver to me, but as an associate of Normas' at the Old Mill Theatre, I have to agree with her as I too have some idea of the cost and involvement required to put on this type of show. Your comment on being interested in our production has great merit as we will be looking for backstage crew and the added bonus of working with Joe McCabe the director would be of great benefit to you as he is a 'technical Guru'. He is in the throe's at present of directing/rehearsing the musical Man of La Mancha which will be performed at The Old Mill Theatre in July/August. To contact him try his phone 93777568 or email hylas@iinet.net.au, i'm sure he would be delighted to here from you.
Best of luck,
Robert Vincent
