How Would I Go About Putting On A Famous Show?
Sun, 20 May 2001, 11:23 pmHi, I was wandering how I would go about getting lisencing rights and a really inexpensive way to put on "A Chorus Line". Friends and I would very much enjoy putting on a piece of ameture theater and we've attempted it once before with trying to stage The Who's Tommy but after months of preperation, personal matters got in the way and everything fizzled. It would be really nice if we got to put on a much loved show such as A Chorus Line.
So advice on stuff like liscening is the main issue I think. Venues, auditions, advertising is all under the hat.
So if anyone's keen to help with how I'd get info on copyrightand stuff, please feel free to contact me.

Thanik you Norma for your reply
That sounds like one hell ofa lot of money, so maybe I should njust focus on my own works. If possible can you, or any one else, offer any suggestion on how I can just get a piece of mine started, workshopped and then produced with very minimal budget. The shows I've written don't require much, but defintely require quite talented actors who might have to work simply for the love of the theater.
Also, i would love to get involved with A Chorus Line, please give me more details. But I do have a handicap as a performer, I ain't able to dance. But back stage work, voluntary or paid, would be brilliant.
Cheers
