Dance Venue
Thu, 21 Sept 2000, 01:05 amI need a bit of help. I run a full-time dance studio and I'm looking for a decent venue for our dancing conert at the end of the year. We would need a stge of decent size, probably to fit up to 20 very mobile children at a time, and a seating capacity of about 200. I have previously hired the Marloo Theatre but have outgrown it, unfortunately.
I'm willing to use Halls, school auditoriums, anthing!
Can you suggest anything?
Oh, by the way, I'm located in the Hills, but anything eastern suburbs will do

In addition to being a theatre director and youth arts consultant, I am also the Director of Drama & Development Officer at Helena College - a nondenominational, private, secondary college in Glen Forrest (that's near Darlington) in the hills. The college has a modest but welcoming Performing Arts Centre, seating about 220, with a raised performance area, green room, lighting and sound facilities etc. We would be happy to negotiate terms with the ITA re. them and other organisations using our venue. We would also be happy to negotiate fee structures dependent on budget size - we do not have a flat-rate structure in place. The Performing Arts Centre was not designed as a money-making enterprise, but as a focal point for community development and as a community resource.
So, if you can entertain the thought of travelling to Glen Forrest, then give me a call on 92989100 at the college and let's talk about possibilities.
Take care.
