I chasing sound and lighting courses in W.A. Would FTI be the best place to go? Or the academy? Prefer short term courses.
I live in Margaret River and manage the community cinema that operates in the Cultural Centre, under the organisation Arts Margaret River. We also have touring performances and local shows staged there. We have been discussing the benefits of having one of us fully trained in these areas as we can rarely afford to hire professionals from Perth or Bunbury (we are a non-profit organisation) so it seems smart to have a local. (more often then not, volunteering their time)
Has anyone any suggestions?

The only thing is, is that I'm pretty entrenched down here in Margaret River. I was thinking that Tafe may do external studies. The Practical aspect wouldn't be a problem as I work for Arts Margaret River and they bring a lot of touring shows through ie Windmill Baby. We also have contsct with the Bunbury Entertainment Centre who I could most probably get experience with. Is any of this poss?
