How do i become a Make-up artist?
Sun, 2 Oct 2005, 07:48 pmI hear you can go to London and do make-up artist work exprience. is this true? and is there an another way i can achieve a certificate in make-up(in theatre and tv)? a workshop or would i have to go to uni? I really have no idea so could someone give me some advice.

you need to study long and hard to have a career in make-up
i am a cinemagraphic makeup artist and studied with oscar winner peter frampton.
At the moment i am working on a production, but before then, i was without work for 6 months, simply because as a freelancer, you are never guranteed work. to get into the industry, you need to study hard and work a lot of free 'expereince' jobs. getting into theatre is extremly hard! it is the one indursty who doesnt need make-up artists, but use them if they can afford them. tv would be your best way to go, even then, it is very hard to crack.
but, if this is something you have a passion for, then i suggest you go for it!
