Re: How do i become a Make-up artist?

There are make-up schools and academy's you can attend which will teach you anything and everything you need to know about make-up. You can even get a diploma if you want to. Start by looking for any schools that are near you that you can attend.

You can do work experience for Make-up anywhere! You just need to find a way in, maybe by offering your services for free but there are basics that you will just need to know! Make-up isnt an easy industry and the more you know, the more valuable you are.

The problem with posting something on each board, is that different people respond to different posts - check out my post on one of the other boards...

Re: How do i become a Make-up artist?

hey candice,
you need to study long and hard to have a career in make-up
i am a cinemagraphic makeup artist and studied with oscar winner peter frampton.
At the moment i am working on a production, but before then, i was without work for 6 months, simply because as a freelancer, you are never guranteed work. to get into the industry, you need to study hard and work a lot of free 'expereince' jobs. getting into theatre is extremly hard! it is the one indursty who doesnt need make-up artists, but use them if they can afford them. tv would be your best way to go, even then, it is very hard to crack.
but, if this is something you have a passion for, then i suggest you go for it!

Hi my name is Kate I'm just wondering what you feel about the studies you did with peter frampton. I'm interested in expanding my knowlage on cinemagraphic makeup and looking for the best place to do this.
