Hey I have just spoken to a couple of girls who have left Brent Street before they finished the performing arts course, they said its gone down hill. Does anyone in NSW know whats happening there. When you read some of the musical theatre programs that tell you where the artists have studied, some say Brent Street but have moved on to other teaching facilities to study musical theatre.

I was looking at Brent Street but they say its just a dance school with fifty or more to a class. Its alot of money to pay for "just a dance school" And not even their professionals are getting any work

fair comment

interestingly i have posted on this site under 3 different names( none of the nasty, negative ones ) so i hope anyone reading this realises that it could be the same couple of people churning the same stuff over and over. on most other web chat pages you can only register one name from the same email address. also i think it has to be remembered that we are talking about a group of kids - some very young - who are creative and hope to some how get into the performing arts, the key word here being KIDS. it is just impossible for everyone of them to be awful! i have had a small amount to do with brent street and have found everyone very helpful and friendly. anyone getting up and having a go deserves to be encouraged, no matter which school they go to. the comments about jacqui are awful. i hope she does care about making money, she seems to work extremly hard and deserves to earn a decent living. most of the big dance schools are trying to make money. nothing wrong about that. there are also plenty of small concerns going in halls etc that are set up purely for enjoyment and by teachers who do not want to dedicate their whole life to the dance school. everyone is looking for something different, surely one is not better than another, just different. if it is true that brent street used to be better- then fine. you can be sure that the powers that be are trying to impove it every day. if you are not happy with the level of teaching then vote with your feet and go to a different school that suits your needs more. one school is not going to suit everyone. just like one restaurant doesnt make everyone happy etc. thank goodness we do have choice! lets all just remember that at the heart of this are a lot of kids who just love the performing arts. and remember the ages of them as well, is it really necesary to attack them? lets all try to encourage each other, and respect each dance school and the children and young adults who attend them .
