I saw the preview for this show last Thursday and was much moved. A very difficult subject matter was handled with great skill by a young and presumably relatively inexperienced cast and crew.
Not only were the basic issues involved in juvenile crime presented in a sensitive and convincing style, but some of the underlying issues such as child abuse were also raised in a non-confrontational and sympathetic manner.
Particular praise goes to Marian Baird for a convincing portrayal of the 9 year old Lizzie Gael. I would also mention the wonderful Children's Chorus who built and sustained an excellent dramatic atmosphere throughout the play.
Congratulations to Murdoch Performing Group and all involved.

I'll second those sentiments based on reading the text. What a shame the season at the Studio was over so quickly! From Stinger's report, it sounds like it was well worth seeing. I know Malcolm Crisp was involved and he pops by here occasionally, perhaps he'll let us know if they're planning to give it another run.

Otherwise, what's happening after Cabaret, David?

;)

Cheers
Grant
