Wolf Lullaby
Mon, 22 May 2000, 03:59 pmI saw the preview for this show last Thursday and was much moved. A very difficult subject matter was handled with great skill by a young and presumably relatively inexperienced cast and crew.
Not only were the basic issues involved in juvenile crime presented in a sensitive and convincing style, but some of the underlying issues such as child abuse were also raised in a non-confrontational and sympathetic manner.
Particular praise goes to Marian Baird for a convincing portrayal of the 9 year old Lizzie Gael. I would also mention the wonderful Children's Chorus who built and sustained an excellent dramatic atmosphere throughout the play.
Congratulations to Murdoch Performing Group and all involved.
