I saw the preview for this show last Thursday and was much moved. A very difficult subject matter was handled with great skill by a young and presumably relatively inexperienced cast and crew.
Not only were the basic issues involved in juvenile crime presented in a sensitive and convincing style, but some of the underlying issues such as child abuse were also raised in a non-confrontational and sympathetic manner.
Particular praise goes to Marian Baird for a convincing portrayal of the 9 year old Lizzie Gael. I would also mention the wonderful Children's Chorus who built and sustained an excellent dramatic atmosphere throughout the play.
Congratulations to Murdoch Performing Group and all involved.

Even though I have not seen this production, I have been fortunate enough to be in a moved reading of this wonderful play with Barking Gecko Theatre Company. It is by far one of the best Australian plays around and I thoroughly recommend anyone to go see it. It is deeply moving. Cheers
