Finley Winners - Congratulations!

The Finley Awards are made each year for the best in Community Theatre in WA. They were instituted in - I think 1975- in memory of Robert Finley, a locally well known theatre lover and great supporter of non-professional theatre. Initially the award was a single award for "The Best Production", but a few years later the award was broadened as it was realised that comparing straight plays with Musicals was like comparing apples with pears! and so there were two awards. In recent years, in fact very recently it was decided to broaden the awards to include categories such as best Actor,Actress, suporting actor m & f and several other categories. The Independent Theatre Association of WA now administers the awards and hold an Awards Evening, usually in January of each year. Hope this helps.
