Yes... the ITA have announced the list of Nominees for The Finley Awards 2007.

All will be revealed on the glamorous night - Saturday 19th Jan 2008 at the Lady Wardle Performing Arts Centre, St Mary's Anglican Girls School, Elliott Rd, Karrinyup. Jeff, I do empathise with your issues regarding performing at the Finley's and having to pay for a ticket. At times depending on where your performance is placed in the program you may miss more things than others which is not value for money. In saying that I am always chuffed to have the opportunity to perform again a show that was obviously liked by someone enough to get a gig at the Finleys. In defense of the ITA it is definitely an expensive evening to put on. But what is the answer? Maybe raising the cost of entering a Play or Musical? (Lets see who is serious!!) Or simply have an organising committee put together a show for the Finleys and not choose shows to perform an excerpt! This has been tried before and failed. While this current situation isn't ideal we should still support the ITA. What stance does your club have Jeff? What are they doing to help grow the Finley's night so that performers can simply do that and then watch the rest of the show for free? Also Jeff I do feel sorry for your fellow performers who it seems you may have partly let down by "taking a personal stance" when Stirling was asked to perform an excerpt of Sweet Charity at the Finleys. With regards to the BOCs issue I do hate the fact that you have to pay the fee to see the show. BUT I do understand why the ITA, like many other amateur clubs, are selling their tickets in this way. Obviously they are hoping to sell tickets to a wider group of people who may not normally attend such a night because they aren't a member of a club. And having been invovled on a committee back in the days when the clubs had to sell the tickets etc it is definitely easier through BOCs. Anyway these are just my opinions and my opinions alone. I am very much looking forward to the Community Theatre 'Night of Nights'!
