The Electronic Coffee Pot.
Fri, 6 Apr 2001, 04:52 pmIs there anyone out there in Theatreland/ cyberspace who remembers the" Coffee Pot"This wonderful coffee lounge had a bohemium atmosphere and was the place to gather after seeing ,or being involved in a theatrical production;& where "theatre Junkies met to "chew the fat",debate, gossip, agree, disagree,& generally try to unravell the mysteries of the "addiction"The sinking of Perth Railway Station brought about the Pots demise but I can still recall the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and almost taste the ledgendary home made spring rolls & chutney.
It occured to me that this site is "The Pots" electronic replacement, with similar banter, high opinion, myth making & myth de bunking for which the lounge was famous.I enjoy following the debates, but, yes,I do miss the smell of the coffee,& of course the PEOPLE.

Oh yes, Peter! Except the Coffee Pot had relocated to Rokeby Road, Subiaco, when we discovered it - sometime around 1980. Glenn Hayden, if you're out there, come on down! We spent many a happy evening post-rehearsal, playing records, drinking coffees and hot chocolates and discussing things theatrical. I agree, Peter, this site continues with the lively discussions, but nothing beats real life! If someone wants to open a new Coffee Pot, I will contribute cakes and bickies - home made, of course! We could call it the Theatre Lounge or something...
