Aussie TV Under Threat
Thu, 5 Apr 2001, 02:38 pmI recently received some upsetting news from the MEAA and have posted this news to my web site. You can find it here...

This comes at a time where the world is coming to Australia to make their movies. Do we really want to open the door and let the world walk right over us?
Regards All
Jeff.

Well Jeff, as "this is your quest", how do we "follow that star" and indulge in the "impossible dream" and/or what can we do, beside lobby, to bring this about - an further ideas?

Well, Joe, now you've asked a question. While we remain SMALL FRY, there is very little we CAN do. Spreading the word is an important step. Appeal to peoples sense of Australian Pride. Even around here at my place of work, I have yet to encounter a single person to say "who cares" or "I'm all for it". The more people that are aware, the stronger our position becomes. This is why I have published the article on the Web. I have attempted to contact certain Media Organisations on the Web to inform them of the situation and to get their opinions.
The other step is to follow the advice of the article and make some noise within the halls of politics and such. Maybe start a list of names/ petition voicing an opinion on the issue. Inviting these people or their representatives to partake in discussions such as this group.
Basically, make a small voice a big one. Individually, we just white-noise. Together we will be heard. Don't ya think?
