Touring Productions

Some associates and I have recently formed a theatre company and are hoping to do a 12 week tour of the East Coast of Australia next year. This is the first tour that any of us have undertaken. I am seeking advice from producers and techs who have been down this road before. What is the best way to approach the theatres that you are interested in performing in. Best grants available? Has anyone applied for grants before..any tips? Did anyone break even undertaking such an excercise?
