i saw the sunday night performance... the sets and costumes were superb! absolutely fantastic that they could use them but without the great quality of the performances it would have been a waste... i have to agree that the leads were fantastic! stand-outs were most definetly belle, lumiere, lefou and mrs potts whose number was sung to perfection. belle was brilliant her voice was absolutely amazing, she was so sweet and if you weren't quite sure the ooo's and ahhh's when she walked out in that gold ball dress sealed it. the beasts characterisation was superb and the little "slip-up" was forgotten as soon as the 2nd act began. i have to say that my personal favourite and in my opinion the stand out performance had to be lumiere (sp?) great accent, beautiful voice and not a second where he was out of character! i loved the gaston dance number but one problem i did have was the choreography in be our guest, the costumes and sets and the leads were fantastic but the choreography, unfortunately it looked as though it had been choreographed without anyone ever looking at it from the audience, half of the choreography and tricks were not seen and the choreo that could be seen was rather tedious. i loved the show, completely and totally but i also don't see the point of just raving without giving what i hope will be taken as constructive criticism. good job everyone and i can't wait to see what you come up with next!
