Hiring an Agent

Hey I was just wondering what are people's thoughts on Agents Are they worth hiring or should i just search endlessly for the Auditions myself. What is the best way of going about finding an agent? Do people have any suggestions? I would love to here from both sides people with agents and those without yours sincerly William Hebblewhite
