Tue, 19 Oct 2004, 09:42 amCan anyone guide me in gaining certification in theatre and lighting rigging for amateur type productions in the Perth metro area - I am not looking at full time training as this is for a hobby situation not career.
Thanks in advance.

Certification for lighting in WA can only be done through WAAPA as you need to be a registered training authority with the paperwork done.
You can get Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and certification over East easy, have a look at the ALIA website for posts www.alia.com.au
Rigging has to be done as a crane dogger and is available through several training colleges, one tied in to the ACTU and is expensive.
