Gobo's Wanted
Mon, 28 June 2004, 01:46 pmI am lighting Dracula at Harbour theatre in Fremantle. I need some Gobo's for effect such as a cross, castle, half moon and church window.
Could anyone loan me these Gobo's? - I need them from mid July to mid August. The spots are older style Selecon's. I would be happy to pay a deposit on the Gobo's if required.
Thanks
David

Tue, 29 June 2004, 11:55 amYou could also make them easliy out of cans of coke, or pepsi or well, out of cans. all you do is cut the top and bottom off, slice is down the middle so you can flatten the metal, and cut out a circle to the relevant size - be careful edges are sharp.
Then all you have to do is cut out the image - remember, the image will be upside down and back to front when you put it in the light.
Also, scrape off most of the paint, as it burns, and smoke rises out of the lights (don't want you thinking you're burning down the place!)
And because the cans are so cheap, you can make a few, and replace it when it starts to burn out.
