Career Path ~ To be or Not to be, need some advice please
Mon, 27 Jan 2003, 09:17 pmHi there, my name is Dean Kaplan and I have currently finished year 12. I am 18 years old and love all technical elements of theatre, film and tv. I was writing to anyone that can help me. I was turned down by TAFE for the film and television course, applied for Lighting at WAAPA and have not found out yet either way.
So I was writing to anyone out there that can help me. I am interested in almost everything in the TECHNICAL Arts. I am currently looking for a course, to cater for Production Design. I have many talents, and therefore narrowed it down (if you want to called it Narrowed) to Production Design. I dont know what is best for me, but know that I want to get into the Entertainment Industry.
CIRQUE DU SOLEIL, captures my heart. I get the most unbelievable RUSH when watching it. I have so many ideas for stories, productions etc...that I dont know how or where I could get qualifications and the experience to get started.
Companies like Cirque Du Soleil, have job openings but the only thing needed is EXPERIENCE and some qualifications. So I need to know from someone, how I get that experience (obviously in pro-am productions i have been involved) but where can I study to get a qualification in being CREATIVE, for film, tv, and theatre.
So if someone can help me, I would really appreciate it.
