what were people wearing in 1969?
Thu, 9 Aug 2001, 10:40 amor, more specifically, what were people (suburbs) in Melbourne, Australia, wearing in 1969.
in your opinion, are we talking full on flares, platforms, tight pants & wide ties or is 1969 too early for all that?
come on all you fashion aficionados out there...put me to rights!
i'm doing costumes for a show (first time, be gentle with me!) and am looking for some first hand info - have done research on the web, got books etc

Tue, 14 Aug 2001, 07:50 pmI kind of disagree Dean. Not everyone wears the "fashion"...only people with money or maybe young people who are into it. People at woodstock would probably have all been hippies wearing flares and long beads - and i don't believe everyone wore flares or were all hippies in 1969.
thanks anyway - and thanks Sol for your input - that's kind of what i was thinking along the lines of myself.
