Paid work - Lighting tech. and stage managers

Adam,
I agree with Joe. I'd be happy to teach some of your members SM duties and qualities, do a workshop or something. I study SM at the Academy and have taken workshops for my local group, so would be happy to give them to other groups. But why pay? I do understand the desire to have pros work on your show, but you should be encouraging your members to work to a pro level, while giving them the support of not having to be pro and perfect. Amateur clubs are perfect for nuturing new talent, don't discourage that. Perhaps pros giving workshops should be paid and then the money is spent for and benefits the entire club.
