Safety is everybody's concern
Mon, 18 June 2012, 12:31 amall our thoughts to go out to a technician that died during the recent stage collapse in Toronto. Again another stage has collapsed and we have lost a fellow tech. Safety needs to be our focus, lets work together and look after each and look out for each others safety.

I think you will be
Mon, 25 June 2012, 10:31 pmI think you will be surprised at how many venues do actually comply with a whole raft of regs. Most of them will have adequate ailse lighting and exit and emergency lighting allowing the safe egress of people. Blue worklights are a different matter, there is an Australian standard for workplace lighting. Now you can use very lowe level lighting for backstage work if all are aware of the risk factors. This can done by doing a risk assesssment. If people need brighter lighting it is not that hard to give them a safe level without affecting what is appearing on stage.
