 John, you might want to try a website that I use quite often - Click Here . (Will open in new window) They have an extensive library of samples that can be previewed and then either purchased as individual tracks or as an album  OR (and being the canny Scot I know you are) these same samples can be downloaded free of charge (right click - save link as....) and then re-worked to suit ones needs...Extended, shortened, folded, turned outside in....whatever... by using Audition, Cakewalk or any other suitable Audio Engineering software.
