Plan to ban incandescant lamps
Fri, 23 Mar 2007, 12:41 pmHas anyone heard anything about a plan to ban incandescent lamps and replace them by law with Low voltage flouro's. How to play merry hell with the theatre and film industry. And I have a few old toys st home that I dearly love that simply will not work with the CFL lamps. Considering that household use of incandescents accounts for such a small part of the electricity use it would seem to be akin to putting out someones barbeque and ignoring the bushfire next door. Cooling and heating burn a hell of a lot more power.
Halogen
Fri, 23 Mar 2007, 02:31 pmWhile they are planning to phase of standard bulbs used in office and home lighting, there is no discussion around high powered lighting such as halogen globes. I would assume that there would be exclusions to the policy (there always is) and that professional industries would be making themselves heard.
