My sister has just finished a pro-am production of Shout in Adelaide with Daniel Scott, David Hawkins (who was also Lee Gordon in the original Shout) and Tony Lamond.

Ross Coleman was the choreographer, he has choreographed and directed many professional musicals- the original touring Shout, presently Dusty, The Music Man,Bye Bye Birdie etc. He recommended to my sister to go to Sydney and audition in whatever she can. He said she would have been perfect for the Producers but thats a bit late (she is 6foot tall and blonde) However, where do you find out about all the BIG auditions. He said they are auditioning for 'The Boy from Oz' soon or has that already happened. When your not familiar with the processes it difficult to know where to start. (This website has auditions I know)

While she is in Sydney she would like to do a musical theatre course and was thinking of auditioning for CODA- at the Sing over King but after reading their website there is no dance involved in the course. She is too late for NIDA. Does anyone know where she would go for musical theatre training. She is 20 and has been singing and dancing in competitions/eistedfodds since the age of 4 years and involved in a few pro-am productions.

Adelaide being the small town that it is, it is very limited thats why I am auditioning for WAAPA on Thursday in Perth. Last year they came to Adelaide and took no one, that says it all. Although one girl I know who tried out is just amazing and I was so shocked when she didn't get in- she was snapped up by the Ballarat Academy of Performing Arts(BAPA)

Yep... I think you need to move on from good old Adelaide

My daughter has had offers from Mackay and Rockhampton ... Mackay is musical theatre, Rockhampton is PA

She's also going to audition Wappa, Ballarat

She worked with Rachael Beck once and she too said that if you are serious you need to go interstate

Bit late for everywhere this year...I'd suggest she does a bit more research and makes a concerted effort at the ones she wants next year

WAAPA audion masterclasses etc are good value
WAPA tends to take older students for the three year course
